Clones an exact copy or a new person?

Science is advancing at a rapid pace. Genetics marks serious discoveries. Sooner or later a human clone will be created. I wonder if the clone inherits only the genetic traits or also the consciousness and personality of the original?

In the fantasy novels both variants are affected. I personally think that despite the genetic identity of the clone due to the different circumstances of development it is a completely different personality.
