Google and AFP have reached an agreement under which the internet giant will pay for the online content of the French news agency, which appears in its search engine. AFP said in a statement that the deal is a recognition of how valuable the information is.
On the one hand, this may be a solution to limit false information on the Internet. But on the other hand, it can also be used as a restriction on users' access to independent media and information sources.
