It's hard to believe, but 11 years have already passed since the premiere of Game of Thrones! The original series about political intrigue in the seven kingdoms of Westeros became a giant megahit, captured the hearts of half the world and… ended so disastrously badly that fans petitioned for the final season to be remade. Apparently Cersei was right - you either win or you die, there is no middle ground. With Home of the Dragon, the new series set in the Westeros universe, HBO is trying to re-engage viewers and regain their trust.
Interestingly, the creators of the series decided not to start from the beginning, but from the last two or three parts of Fire and Blood - this means that by the end of the second season they will no longer have texts to adapt and will have to rely on the concise summaries in The World of Fire and Ice. Quite a brave decision considering how things turned out last time.
So, does the first episode of Home of the Dragon live up to the expectations and can it please the viewers?
