Meta and Microsoft are not the only companies with ambitions for the metaverse. On Thursday, Nike announced a partnership with Roblox to offer a free virtual gaming space called Nikeland. In its current version, it includes mini-games such as chase, dodgeball and "the floor is lava" that players can practice with their friends.
It's no surprise to see the big sports company partner with Roblox. With more than 200 million monthly active users, this is one of the most popular games among children and teenagers.
I wonder at some point if anyone will need real Nike shoes at all, after which they can buy virtual ones?
